Varlamov Arrested

The Colorado Avalanche have shocked everyone with a record of 10-1 and two goalies with some of the best stats in the league.  Or at least... they had two of the best goalies in the league.  Semyon Varlamov has been arrested on Domestic Violence Charges.  Varlamov turned himself into the Denver Police, wednesday. 

The Ave's haven't said much, other than stating "The Colorado Avalanche is aware of the allegations concerning Semyon Varlamov, at this time, and until the conclusion of the investigation, the Avalanche organization will have no further comment on this situation."

Varlamov has a record of 7-1, with a .945 SV% and a 1.76 GAA.  He was established as the starter for the avalanche but it might not be the worst thing in the world for them, as 

Jean-Sebastien Giguere has a record of 3-0 with a SV% of .981 and a GAA of 0.67.

Kesler Lighting The Lamp

In the 2012-13 season, Ryan Kesler wasn't producing like he should have been. After various injuries, and coming into the season after surgery to his shoulder, it was wondered if he would play like the 40 goal scorer he normally is ever again.

After being thrown onto a line with the Sedins, Kesler really started to be looking like his old self, notching 8 goals and 3 assists in his first 14 games.  Yet it doesn't look like he will be staying with the Sedin Line.  Alex Burrows who normally plays on the Sedin line is just getting back after a shot blocking injury he sustained in his first game, this year.

Kesler will probably fit in between Mike Santorelli and Chris Higgins.

With the Olympics on the horizon.  Kesler is almost guaranteed a rooster spot, if he keeps playing like he is now.
